BMA Peak Downs 2 South - HV Fuel Bay

Project Name BMA Peak Downs 2 South - HV Fuel Bay

Location Peak Downs Mine - Moranbah

Project Details

Compliant Steel was awarded the Peak Downs South 2 - HV Fuel Bay Project in December 2011.

The dimensions of the project were a 24m Span, 45m long and a 9.2m to the eaves. The 45m in length was made up of three 15m bays. An additional pipe bridge was completed to extend off the end of the shed. In total, the tonnage of structural steel was around 70 Ton.

Quality of project was paramount with the specification calling up 100% Ultrasonic Testing of critical connections and 50% Magnetic Particle Testing of all other welds.

Because Compliant Steel has a full time welding inspector with an AS2214 Compliance Ticket, completing the transition to mine work was not an issue. This will not only help with moving the company into a position to complete mine work, but will also make sure the quality of all the work completed by Compliant Steel is of the finest standard.

Compliant Steel now also has an erection subcontractor compliant to mine sites.

With all of their processes in place, Compliant Steel is now in a position to complete jobs in any mine sites to any specification.
